Ozarka is a historical brand of spring water that has been deep-rooted in American culture since its establishment in 1905. The brand is famously known for its 'Proudly Texan' identity, as it sources its water from natural springs throughout the state of Texas, specifically in counties like Wood and Henderson. Its identity as a regional staple has allowed it to maintain a dominant presence in the South-Central United States.
Over the decades, the ownership of Ozarka has shifted through major corporate acquisitions. Originally an independent venture from Eureka Springs, Arkansas, it was eventually acquired by the multinational Nestle Waters North America. In a significant industry shift in 2021, Nestle sold its North American bottled water brands to BlueTriton Brands, a company formed by private equity firms One Rock Capital Partners and Metropoulos & Co. This transition placed Ozarka under a large portfolio of regional spring waters, ensuring its continued distribution across the American market under modern private equity management.
