SPC, originally known as the Shepparton Preserving Company, is a cornerstone of the Australian food processing industry. Established in 1917 by local fruit growers in the Goulburn Valley, Victoria, it was created to ensure a sustainable market for their harvests. The company became a household name in Australia, synonymous with quality canned fruits like peaches, pears, and apricots.
Over the decades, SPC underwent several corporate transitions. It merged with Ardmona in 2002 to form SPC Ardmona. In 2005, the brand was acquired by the beverage giant Coca-Cola Amatil. However, in 2019, SPC was sold to Shepparton Partners Collective, a joint venture between Perma Funds Management and The Eights, bringing the company back into 100% Australian private ownership.
Today, SPC continues to manufacture its products at its historic Shepparton facility in Victoria. The brand remains a key player in the domestic market while expanding into global exports, leveraging its long-standing reputation for using locally grown Australian produce.
