Pyrex is a globally recognized brand synonymous with durable, heat-resistant glassware. It was originally launched in 1915 by Corning Inc., based in the United States, utilizing borosilicate glass technology developed for industrial use. Over the century, the brand has become a staple in kitchens for baking, food storage, and measuring.

Today, the ownership and manufacturing of Pyrex are split geographically. In North America (the Americas and Asia-Pacific), the brand is owned by Instant Brands, which primarily manufactures its clear glassware in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, using tempered soda-lime glass. In Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, the brand is licensed to International Cookware (now known as La Maison Française du Verre), which continues to manufacture traditional borosilicate glass in Châteauroux, France.

As of 2024 and beyond, the ultimate ownership of the North American branch belongs to private equity firm Centre Lane Partners, which acquired the Instant Brands housewares business. The European entity remains a separate manufacturing powerhouse under its own regional ownership group.
