Solo is an iconic Australian lemon-flavoured soft drink that first hit the market in 1973. It was created by Tarax Drinks as a 'man's drink,' inspired by traditional pub-style squash, and became famous for its 'thirst crusher' advertising campaigns and hyper-masculine branding.
Today, Solo is manufactured across Australia in various bottling facilities. The brand is a core part of the Asahi Beverages portfolio within the region. While it originated as a local Australian product, it is now owned by the Japanese multinational corporation Asahi Group Holdings, which manages its production and distribution through its Australian subsidiary, Asahi Beverages (formerly Schweppes Australia).
