Cerveza Ceiba is a prominent craft beer brand that captures the spirit of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. Founded in 2012 in Mérida, the brand was established with the goal of reviving the brewing tradition in southeastern Mexico, which had become dominated by industrial giants. The name and logo pay homage to the Ceiba tree, a sacred symbol in Mayan culture representing the connection between the sky, earth, and underworld.
Today, the brewery remains an independent craft operation based in Mérida, Yucatan. It is manufactured locally using high-quality ingredients to produce a range of styles including Pilsner, Amber, and Stout. Unlike many other Mexican beer brands that have been acquired by multinational conglomerates like AB InBev or Heineken, Cerveza Ceiba maintains its status as an independent, locally-owned craft brewery, deeply rooted in its regional heritage and artisanal production methods.
