União is one of Brazil's most iconic brands, with a history dating back to 1910 when it was founded by Italian immigrants as the Companhia União dos Refinadores. For over a century, it has been a household staple in Brazilian kitchens, known specifically for its refined and crystal sugars.

The organic sugar line shown in the image represents the brand's pivot toward sustainable agriculture, using sugarcane cultivated without pesticides. Regarding ownership, the brand changed hands several times in recent decades, notably being part of Copersucar. Since 2012, União has been part of Camil Alimentos S.A., a massive Brazilian multinational food company that consolidated its leadership in the grains and sugar sector by acquiring the brand. The production remains localized within Brazil, specifically across the sugarcane-producing states in the southeast.
