Kusmi Tea represents a historic blend of Russian tradition and French craftsmanship. Originally founded in 1867 by Pavel Kousmichoff in Saint Petersburg, Russia, the brand quickly became a favorite of the Tsars. Following the Russian Revolution in 1917, the Kousmichoff family relocated the business to Paris, France, where it established its international headquarters.
Today, Kusmi Tea is deeply rooted in French industrial expertise. While the raw tea leaves and botanical ingredients are sourced from premium estates globally (such as China, India, and Sri Lanka), the actual blending, flavoring, and final packaging occur in their production facility located in Saint-Vigor-d'Ymonville, near Le Havre in Normandy, France.
In 2003, the brand was acquired from the Kousmichoff family by the Orebi family, who have a long-standing history in the coffee and cocoa trade through their company, Groupe Orientis. Under the ownership of Groupe Orientis, Kusmi Tea has evolved into a global luxury tea brand known for its distinctive colorful tins and innovative blends. The company remains headquartered in Paris, maintaining its status as a premium French enterprise with a worldwide distribution network.
