Lab grown meat (Cultivated meat)

Lab-grown meat, also known as cultivated or cell-based meat, represents a revolutionary sector in food technology where animal meat is produced by culturing animal cells directly. This process eliminates the need to raise and slaughter animals, aiming to reduce environmental impact and improve animal welfare. The industry is currently in a scale-up phase with production facilities emerging in food tech hubs across the globe.

While the technology was pioneered by Dutch scientist Mark Post (creator of the first lab-grown burger in 2013), the industry has since expanded into a multi-billion dollar global pursuit. Major production and research hubs are established in the United States, Israel, Singapore, and the Netherlands. Each company in this space typically operates its own proprietary bioreactor facilities. Ownership is diverse, ranging from independent startups to significant investments from traditional meat industry giants and venture capital firms.
