Jura 'The Road' is a premium single malt Scotch whisky produced at the Jura Distillery on the Isle of Jura, a remote island off the west coast of Scotland. Part of the Jura Sherry Collection, this specific expression is aged in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and finished in hand-selected 20-year-old Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks, known for its notes of apricots, coffee, and cinnamon.
The Jura Distillery was originally founded in 1810 by Archibald Campbell, though it fell into ruin in the early 20th century. It was reborn in 1963 thanks to the efforts of local estate owners Robin Fletcher and Tony Riley-Smith, who aimed to revitalize the island’s economy. Today, the brand is owned by Whyte & Mackay, a major Scottish spirits company which is itself a subsidiary of the Philippines-based multinational conglomerate Emperador Inc. Despite international ownership, the whisky continues to be distilled and matured on the Isle of Jura using traditional methods.
