BKI (Brahms, Koefoed, and Iversen) is one of Denmark's most iconic coffee brands, founded in 1960. It gained prominence by making quality coffee accessible to the general public during a period of economic growth in Scandinavia. The company operates one of the largest coffee roasting facilities in Denmark, located in Højbjerg near Aarhus.
Starting as a small family enterprise, BKI successfully expanded its reach across the retail and food service sectors. Unlike many other major coffee brands that have been acquired by global conglomerates, BKI has maintained its identity and independence through its parent structure, continuing to focus on sourcing beans globally while roasting them locally to meet Danish taste preferences.
