Tripel Karmeliet is an iconic Belgian beer launched in 1996 by Brewery Bosteels. The brand is famous for its 'three-grain' recipe (wheat, oats, and barley), which supposedly dates back to a 1679 recipe from the Carmelite monastery in Dendermonde. It has won numerous global awards for its complex, creamy, and citrus-forward profile.
While the brand has deep local roots in Buggenhout, Belgium, its ownership changed significantly in 2016 when the family-owned Bosteels Brewery reached an agreement to be acquired. Since then, it has been a part of the global portfolio of AB InBev, the world's largest brewing company. Despite this corporate ownership, the beer continues to be brewed primarily at its historical site in Belgium to maintain its protected heritage and flavor profile.
