Kohler Co., founded in 1873 by John Michael Kohler, is one of America's oldest and largest privately held companies. Originally established in Kohler, Wisconsin, the brand began by producing cast iron farm implements and eventually transitioned into plumbing products after coating a horse trough in enamel to create a bathtub.
Today, Kohler is a global leader in kitchen and bath products, engines and power systems, and luxury cabinetry. While the brand maintains a significant manufacturing presence in the United States, particularly at its headquarters in Kohler, Wisconsin, it also operates manufacturing facilities worldwide, including in Mexico, China, India, and France, to serve various international markets.
The company remains family-owned, with a legacy spanning four generations. Kohler products, such as the Highline Arc toilet shown here, are known for their innovation in water efficiency and design, maintaining a strong market share in major retailers throughout Canada and the United States.
