Ocado is a leading British online supermarket and a pioneer in grocery retail technology. Unlike traditional retailers, Ocado does not have physical stores; instead, it operates through a sophisticated network of highly automated Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs). The brand was established in 2000 and has since revolutionized the industry by integrating robotics and artificial intelligence into the food supply chain.

While originally strongly associated with the Waitrose brand through a long-standing supply agreement, Ocado shifted its retail partnership to Marks & Spencer (M&S) in 2020. This transition resulted in a joint venture known as Ocado Retail Ltd, which combines Ocado’s logistics and automation expertise with M&S’s quality food range. The company's technology arm, Ocado Solutions, also licenses its proprietary logistics software and hardware to other global retailers.

Today, the brand is owned by Ocado Group plc, a publicly traded company on the London Stock Exchange. Based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, the group continues to expand its international footprint by providing end-to-end online grocery solutions to partners across Europe, North America, and Asia while maintaining its core delivery service in the UK market.
