Bokomo Weet-Bix is an iconic South African breakfast cereal, recognized as the country’s leading brand in its category. The brand’s heritage dates back to 1922 when the South African Wheat Co-operative (Bokomo) was established. It officially began production of the malted wheat biscuits in 1929, making it a staple in South African households for nearly a century.
Today, Bokomo is part of the Pioneer Foods group. Since 2020, Pioneer Foods has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of PepsiCo, the American multinational food and beverage giant. Despite the global ownership, the product continues to be manufactured primarily within South Africa, utilizing local wheat resources to maintain its distinct texture and nutritional profile.
