Ring Video Doorbell

Ring is a leading provider of smart home security solutions, most famous for inventing the smart video doorbell. The brand was originally founded as Doorbot in 2013 by Jamie Siminoff in the United States. Following a famous appearance on the television show Shark Tank where it failed to secure an investment, the company rebranded to Ring and saw explosive growth, eventually becoming a household name in home surveillance.

In 2018, the tech giant Amazon acquired Ring for approximately $1 billion. This acquisition integrated Ring into the Amazon ecosystem, alongside other smart home brands like Blink and Echo (Alexa). Today, while the company remains based in Santa Monica, California, its manufacturing operations are largely centered in China and Southeast Asia to facilitate global distribution of its cameras and security systems.
