HONOR is a prominent global technology brand that originated as a sub-brand of the Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei. Initially established to target younger consumers with budget-friendly yet feature-rich mobile devices, the brand quickly grew into a significant entity in the smartphone industry.
In November 2020, to ensure the brand's survival amidst trade restrictions placed on its parent company, Huawei sold HONOR to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co., Ltd. This consortium is composed of over 30 agents and dealers, along with state-backed firms in Shenzhen. This strategic move allowed HONOR to operate as an independent entity, regain access to global supply chains, and continue developing products like the HONOR X series. Manufacturing remains primarily centered in China, utilizing the region's advanced electronics infrastructure.
