Alpen Gold is one of the most popular chocolate brands in the Russian and Slavic markets. While the name evokes the Swiss Alps, the brand was actually created specifically for the post-Soviet market in the 1990s by the American company Kraft Foods. It has since become a household name, known for its wide variety of flavors and accessible pricing.

Currently, Alpen Gold is produced locally in Russia, primarily at the Mondelēz International factory in Sobinka, Vladimir Region. The brand's ownership transitioned from Kraft Foods to Mondelēz International when the parent company split its business units in 2012. Today, it remains a flagship brand for Mondelēz in the Eastern European confectionery sector.
