Originally founded in 1986 by a group of Norwegian investors led by Atle Brynestad, the brand was established under the name Signet Cruise Line before being renamed to Seabourn. Over the decades, the ownership of Seabourn transitioned as the cruise industry underwent significant consolidation. Today, Seabourn’s fleet of ultra-luxury ships is manufactured primarily in European shipyards, most notably by Fincantieri in Italy.
