Heisse Tasse (German for 'hot cup') is a well-known brand of instant soups designed for quick preparation by adding boiling water. Originally introduced to the German market in the early 1970s, it revolutionized the convenience food sector as a snack or light meal option.
The brand was originally developed by Erasmus Giesselmann and later became part of the CPC International group, which eventually evolved into Unilever. In 2001, as part of a divestment required by antitrust authorities, the brand was sold. Today, it is part of the Continental Foods group, which was acquired by the Spanish multinational GBfoods in 2019.
Manufacturing for the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) is predominantly centered in Lübeck, Germany, at the historical Erasco factory, which maintains the high production standards required for the local market.
