Marshall headphones are a globally recognized line of consumer audio products that draw their iconic aesthetic from the legendary Marshall guitar amplifiers. While the Marshall brand itself was founded in London, United Kingdom, by Jim Marshall in 1962, the consumer audio division (including headphones and Bluetooth speakers) was developed through a long-term licensing partnership with Swedish company Zound Industries.
In 2023, a significant structural change occurred when Zound Industries acquired the Marshall family's stake in Marshall Amplification to form the Marshall Group. This merger unified the traditional amplifier business with the modern consumer electronics segment under a single corporate umbrella. While the heritage and design roots remain British, the product engineering and corporate leadership are primarily based in Stockholm, Sweden, and manufacturing for several consumer items, including the Monitor II headphones, is conducted in China.
