The Marshall Acton is a compact Bluetooth speaker that carries the iconic aesthetic of the legendary British amplifier brand. Originally founded in London, England, in 1962 by Jim Marshall, the brand became synonymous with rock and roll. While the professional guitar amplifiers are still largely manufactured in the UK, the consumer electronics line, including headphones and home speakers like the Acton, is produced through a long-standing partnership with Zound Industries.

In 2023, a significant shift in ownership occurred when Zound Industries acquired Marshall Amplification to form the Marshall Group. This merger brought the heritage of the British guitar amp side and the modern Swedish consumer electronics side under one umbrella. Consequently, while the brand's heart and heritage remain British, the ultimate ownership and management are now centered in Sweden, with high-volume consumer goods being manufactured in China to meet global demand.
