Diprobase is a globally recognized brand specializing in emollient creams and ointments designed for the management of dry and sensitive skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. Originally developed as a pharmaceutical-grade moisturizing solution, the brand has long been a staple in both over-the-counter retail and clinical prescription settings.
For many years, the brand was a key part of the Bayer Consumer Health portfolio. However, in a strategic move to focus on other core therapeutic areas, Bayer sold Diprobase along with several other dermatology brands to the French pharmaceutical giant Biocodex. This acquisition, finalized around 2021, integrated Diprobase into a company known for its expertise in microbiota and specialized healthcare products.
Today, Diprobase is manufactured across various European sites to meet international demand. While its historical roots are tied to German-American pharmaceutical legacies through Schering-Plough and Bayer, its current ownership and strategic direction are steered from Biocodex’s headquarters in France. The product remains highly regarded for its hypoallergenic formulations and its role in protecting the skin's natural barrier.
