Smartwater is a premium brand of bottled water known for its vapor-distilled process and added electrolytes for taste. The brand was originally created by Glacéau (Energy Brands) in the United States in the mid-1990s. The manufacturing process involves distilling water to mirror the natural hydrological cycle, then remineralizing it with calcium, magnesium, and potassium.

In 2007, the brand underwent a major ownership shift when The Coca-Cola Company acquired Glacéau for $4.1 billion. Today, Smartwater is produced in multiple countries around the world to serve local markets efficiently. While primarily manufactured and bottled in various regional facilities across the United States, it is also produced in the United Kingdom and other international territories where Coca-Cola maintains bottling operations, ensuring global availability under the stewardship of one of the world's largest beverage corporations.
