Christgau is a distinguished Danish coffee brand with deep historical roots in the city of Odense. It was originally established by Gustav Christgau, a Royal Court Purveyor, whose legacy in the coffee trade became a staple of Danish quality and craftsmanship. The brand is renowned for its selection of 100% Arabica beans, often specializing in specific blends like Java Mocca and Java Colombia.
Following the founder's passing during World War II, the company transitioned through family ownership before eventually becoming part of the BKI Foods portfolio. Today, Christgau coffee is produced and distributed by BKI Foods A/S. The manufacturing takes place at BKI's facility in Højbjerg, Denmark, where the beans are roasted and packaged for the Scandinavian market. The brand remains a premium offering under the BKI umbrella, maintaining its historical prestige as a royal purveyor while being widely available in major retailers.
