Habitant soup

Habitant is a historic Canadian brand best known for its authentic French-Canadian style pea soup. The brand was founded in 1918 by the Morin family in Montreal, who began canning traditional family recipes that became staples in households across Canada. The manufacturing remains primarily centered in Canada to maintain the brand's local heritage.

Today, the Habitant brand is owned by the Campbell Soup Company, which acquired the brand through its acquisition of Borden Foods' soup business. It continues to be managed under the Campbell Canadian division, ensuring that the legacy of traditional, hearty soups continues to reach consumers while benefitting from the global distribution network and quality standards of a major multinational food corporation.
