Nescau is one of the most iconic powdered chocolate brands in South America, particularly in Brazil where it was launched in 1932. Originally named "Beri-Nescau" (inspired by Vitamin B1, then called aneurin), the name was later shortened to provide a more dynamic marketing identity. It was created by Nestlé to compete in the growing market for morning energy drinks.
While the parent company, Nestlé, is a Swiss multinational, Nescau itself is a brand born out of Nestlé's Brazilian operations. Today, it is primarily manufactured in Brazil across several state-of-the-art facilities to serve the domestic and neighboring markets. The brand is globally owned by Nestlé S.A., which continues to manage Nescau as a localized powerhouse brand distinct from its global counterpart, Nesquik.
