Côte d'Or is one of the most iconic Belgian chocolate brands, founded in 1883 by Charles Neuhaus. The name refers to the Gold Coast, now Ghana, which was the source of many of the cocoa beans used in the production. The brand's signature elephant logo has become a symbol of high-quality Belgian confectionery tradition.

While the brand maintains its heart in Belgium with production facilities in Halle, it is now part of the global portfolio of Mondelēz International. This acquisition occurred after a series of corporate transitions following the brand's purchase by Jacobs Suchard in the 1980s. Today, Côte d'Or products are distributed worldwide, maintaining their reputation for rich flavor and traditional Belgian recipes while being managed by a multinational conglomerate.
