Toblerone is a globally recognized Swiss chocolate brand famous for its distinctive triangular shape, intended to resemble the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps. Created in 1908 by Theodor Tobler and Emil Baumann in Bern, Switzerland, it was the first milk chocolate bar with honey and almond nougat.

For over a century, the brand was exclusively produced in Bern, allowing it to use the 'Swiss Made' label and the Matterhorn icon. However, following the decision by its owner, Mondelez International, to move some production to Bratislava, Slovakia, to meet global demand, the brand has had to adjust its packaging to comply with Swissness legislation, removing the iconic mountain and specific Swiss labeling. Despite these changes in manufacturing geography, it remains one of the most prestigious names in the international confectionery market.
