Violet Crumble is an iconic Australian confectionery brand known for its honeycomb toffee centre coated in compound chocolate. The brand was originally created by Abel Hoadley in 1913 in Melbourne, Australia. Its name was inspired by Hoadley's wife's favourite flower, the violet, combined with the descriptive nature of the honeycomb centre.
Over the decades, the brand passed through several hands including Rowntree and Nestlé. However, in 2018, the South Australian family-owned business Robern Menz (now known simply as Menz Confectionery) purchased the brand from Nestlé, effectively bringing ownership back to Australia. Today, the product is manufactured at the Menz factory in Glynde, Adelaide, South Australia, maintaining its heritage as one of the country's oldest and most beloved snack brands.
