El Mayor Reposado Tequila

El Mayor Reposado is a premium tequila distilled and bottled in Mexico. It is crafted from 100% Blue Weber Agave harvested in the valley of Jalisco, following traditional methods that involve slow-cooking the agave hearts in brick ovens and double distillation in copper pot stills. This specific 'Reposado' expression is aged in white oak barrels for at least nine months, resulting in a smooth, complex flavor profile.

The brand was established by the González family, specifically under the guidance of Master Distiller Rodolfo González, continuing a multi-generational legacy in tequila production. Today, El Mayor is part of the portfolio of Luxco, a prominent American spirits company. In 2021, Luxco was acquired by MGP Ingredients, Inc., making MGP the ultimate owner of the brand. Despite the American corporate ownership, the tequila remains authentically Mexican in its production, maintaining the NOM 1143 designation at the Destiladora González Lux distillery in Jalisco, Mexico.
