Eastpak is a global lifestyle brand that originated in the United States, initially founded as Eastern Canvas Products by Monte Goldman in 1952. The company's humble beginnings were rooted in manufacturing high-quality duffels, backpacks, and safety equipment for the U.S. Army. Over time, it evolved into a consumer icon, particularly after Monte's son, Mark Goldman, rebranded the company as Eastpak in 1976 and pivoted toward durable collegiate and urban accessories.
Today, Eastpak is owned by VF Corporation, a major American apparel and footwear company. Since becoming part of this international conglomerate, manufacturing has transitioned from being exclusively U.S.-based to a global supply chain. While design and branding maintain an American heritage, actual production takes place in multiple countries across Asia and Europe to serve its massive worldwide market.
