The brand was founded by the Bolloré family and originally focused on the production of thin papers. Over decades, OCB became a household name in the smoking accessories market, known for its ultra-thin and ecological paper products.

The Organic Hemp line specifically highlights the brand's move toward sustainable materials, using unbleached hemp fibers. While the brand was founded and nurtured by the Bolloré family in France, the rolling paper business was eventually acquired by Republic Tobacco (now Republic Technologies), led by Don Levin. Today, while the production remains rooted in French manufacturing facilities to maintain quality standards, the ultimate ownership lies with the American-owned Republic Group.
