Nestlé Cheerios Multigrain breakfast cereal

Cheerios is a global brand of breakfast cereal that has a unique ownership structure depending on the region. Originally invented in the United States in 1941 by General Mills as 'Cheerioats', the brand was renamed Cheerios in 1945.

Outside of North America, including in Europe and Scandinavia where this specific packaging (featuring Swedish, Danish, and Finnish text) is sold, the brand is managed by Cereal Partners Worldwide (CPW). CPW is a joint venture between Nestlé and General Mills established in 1990. Therefore, while General Mills owns the brand globally, Nestlé handles the manufacturing and distribution in these international markets.
