Fundador Brandy de Jerez

Fundador is a legendary brand in the world of spirits, recognized as the first Spanish brandy to be marketed under the 'Brandy de Jerez' designation. Its history dates back to 1730 in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, where the Domecq family established their wine-making legacy. The brand itself was formally launched in 1874 by Pedro Domecq Loustau, revolutionizing the industry by applying the traditional 'Solera' aging system to grape spirits.

While the brand is deeply rooted in Spanish heritage and continues to be produced and bottled at the Bodegas Fundador facilities in Jerez using traditional methods, its ownership has transitioned to a global scale. In 2016, the Philippine-based conglomerate Emperador Inc. acquired Fundador from Beam Suntory. This acquisition marked a significant shift, making Emperador one of the largest brandy producers in the world. Today, the brand is owned by Alliance Global Group, led by tycoon Andrew Tan, while maintaining its authentic Spanish production standards.
