Veev spirit

Veev is a unique spirit brand that pioneered the use of the açaí berry from the Amazon rainforest in the distilled beverage category. Originally launched in 2007, it was marketed as a sustainable alternative to vodka, utilizing hand-picked berries and a carbon-neutral distillation process. While the production is deeply rooted in Brazil to ensure the freshness of the primary ingredients, the brand was developed for the global market with a strong focus on high-end cocktails and eco-conscious branding.

The brand has transitioned through various ownership stages since its inception. It was originally founded by brothers Courtney and Carter Reum under the Veev Spirits, LLC banner. In 2016, the brand was acquired by Luxco, a major player in the spirits industry. Subsequently, Luxco itself was acquired by MGP Ingredients in 2021, which now oversees the production and distribution of Veev as part of its expansive portfolio of spirit brands. This integration has allowed Veev to maintain its Brazilian manufacturing heritage while benefiting from a large-scale American distribution and management infrastructure.
