Original Wagner is a prominent German snack and pizza brand that originated in the Saarland region of Germany. Founded in 1968 by Ernst Wagner, it grew from a local bakery into one of Europe's largest manufacturers of frozen pizzas and specialty breads. The Rustipani line specifically caters to the rustic, dark bread tradition in Germany, offering oven-baked convenience snacks.

While the brand was originally independent, it entered into a partnership with Nestlé in 2005, which eventually led to full ownership by the Swiss multinational. However, as of 2023, Nestlé combined its European frozen pizza business (including Wagner) into a joint venture with the private equity firm PAI Partners. Nestlé remains a significant stakeholder in this new entity, known as the European Pizza Group, while PAI Partners holds the majority stake to drive further growth and innovation across the continent. Production remains primarily centered in Nonnweiler, Germany.
