TaylorMade Golf is a premier manufacturer of high-performance golf equipment, including drivers, irons, shafts, and balls. Founded in 1979 by Gary Adams, the company revolutionized the sport by introducing the first metalwood driver, which offered significantly more forgiveness and distance compared to traditional wooden clubs. This innovation quickly established TaylorMade as a leader in the golf industry.

Over the decades, the company has undergone several ownership changes. It was originally independent before being acquired by the Salomon Group, which was later bought by Adidas in 1997. In 2017, Adidas sold TaylorMade to KPS Capital Partners. Most recently, in 2021, the South Korean private equity firm Centroid Investment Partners acquired TaylorMade for approximately $1.7 billion, marking one of the largest acquisitions in the golf industry history.

While design and high-end custom assembly often occur at the company's headquarters in Carlsbad, California, the vast majority of component manufacturing is outsourced to specialized facilities in China and Vietnam. Today, TaylorMade remains a dominant global brand, endorsed by many of the world's top professional golfers.
