Folgers coffee

Folgers is one of the most recognizable coffee brands in North America, with a history dating back to the mid-19th century. Founded in San Francisco during the California Gold Rush, it grew from a local mill into a national household name known for its pre-roasted and ground coffee selections.

Today, the brand's primary manufacturing operations are centered in New Orleans, Louisiana, where some of the world's largest coffee roasting facilities are located. This centralized production ensures consistent quality for its wide range of products, including classic roast, decaf, and instant varieties.

Ownership of Folgers has transitioned through several major corporations over the decades. Originally a family-owned business, it was acquired by Procter & Gamble in 1963. In 2008, it was merged into The J.M. Smucker Company, which remains the ultimate owner today. Under Smucker's leadership, Folgers continues to lead the retail coffee market in the United States, maintaining its legacy as a staple of American breakfast culture.
