Redken Control Addict 28 is a professional-grade, high-hold hairspray developed for the salon industry. The brand was founded in 1960 by American actress Paula Kent and her hairdresser, Jheri Redding. They pioneered the approach of protein Reconditioning and acidic pH to beauty, creating a scientific foundation for hair care. Redken was based on 5th Avenue in New York City, which remains a core part of its branding identity.
In 1993, Redken was acquired by l'Oreal, the world's largest cosmetics company. While the brand maintains its American heritage and scientific professional positioning, it now benefits from l'Oreal's global distribution network and extensive research and development resources headquartered in France. Manufacturing occurs in multiple certified facilities worldwide, primarily in North America and Europe, to serve international markets including Denmark.
