Semper is a brand with deep Nordic roots, originally founded in Sweden in 1939 by Axel Wenner-Gren. The BabySemp line is one of their most iconic products, developed in collaboration with pediatricians to provide nutritional support for infants. While the brand originated in Sweden, its production is highly focused in Denmark, specifically at their advanced facility in Götene (Sweden) and partnership sites in the Nordic region; however, for the liquid ready-to-drink variants like BabySemp 1, production is primarily centered in Denmark.

In 2006, Semper was acquired by the Hero Group, a Swiss-based international consumer food company. As of 2024 and beyond, the Hero Group remains the ultimate owner, managing Semper as a leading brand for baby food and gluten-free products across Northern Europe.
