Barcaffé is one of the most recognized and influential coffee brands in the Adriatic region, particularly famous for its Turkish coffee and professional espresso blends. Founded in 1970 in Portorož, Slovenia, the brand originally built its reputation on high-quality blends that defined the coffee culture of the former Yugoslavia. Over the decades, it has expanded its portfolio to include espresso capsules, instant coffee, and ready-to-drink options.
Currently, Barcaffé is produced in modern roasting facilities across the Balkans, notably in Slovenia and Serbia, ensuring freshness for its primary markets. The brand focuses on sourcing premium beans from around the world while maintaining traditional roasting techniques that cater to regional tastes.
Since 2010, Barcaffé has been a flagship brand under the Atlantic Grupa portfolio. Atlantic Grupa, a major Croatian multinational company, acquired the brand as part of its takeover of Droga Kolinska. Today, the brand continues to dominate the regional market under the ownership of Atlantic Grupa, which is headquartered in Zagreb, Croatia.
