Zeta Casa Di Luca Carnaroli is a premium risotto rice variety specifically sourced from the Lombardy (Lombardia) region of Italy. Carnaroli is often referred to as the 'king of rices' because of its high starch content and firm texture, which makes it ideal for achieving a creamy risotto while keeping the grain 'al dente'.
The brand Zeta was founded in Sweden by Fernando Di Luca, an Italian entrepreneur who moved to Stockholm from Fano, Italy, in 1961. Seeking to introduce authentic Italian ingredients to the Swedish market, he launched the Zeta brand in 1971, starting with oil and later expanding to pasta and rice. Today, the brand remains a family-owned enterprise, managed by the second generation of the Di Luca family. While the brand is Swedish in its corporate origin, the product itself is cultivated and processed in Italy to maintain traditional quality standards.
