Danubio is a well-established Brazilian dairy brand known primarily for its high-quality cheeses and cream spreads (requeijão). The brand was originally created by the Vigor company, a traditional name in the Brazilian food industry founded in the early 20th century.
Today, the brand is owned by Vigor Alimentos S.A., which in 2017 was fully acquired by the Mexican dairy giant Grupo Lala. While the brand maintains its local Brazilian identity and manufacturing hubs within Brazil, its corporate management and ultimate ownership reside with the Mexican multinational. This ensures that while the flavors and recipes remain localized, the brand benefits from a global supply chain and extensive R&D resources.
