Smint is a globally recognized brand of sugar-free mints, originally launched in Spain in 1994. The brand was created by Chupa Chups, a famous Spanish confectionery company, specifically to target adult consumers looking for a refreshing, sugar-free alternative to traditional sweets. The iconic triangular shape of the mint and the distinctive dispenser packaging helped Smint achieve rapid international success.
Today, Smint is owned by the Italian-Dutch multinational corporation Perfetti Van Melle, which acquired Chupa Chups in 2006. While the brand is enjoyed worldwide, the primary manufacturing facilities remain located in Spain, maintaining the product's Mediterranean heritage under the umbrella of one of the world's largest confectionery manufacturers.
