7UP Zero Sugar is a popular lemon-lime flavored carbonated soft drink. It was originally created by Charles Leiper Grigg in 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, under The Howdy Corporation. The brand underwent several ownership changes throughout the 20th century, eventually becoming one of the most recognizable soda brands globally.
Today, the ownership structure of 7UP is unique compared to other soft drinks. In the United States and Canada, the brand is owned and distributed by Keurig Dr Pepper. However, for all international markets outside of North America—as evidenced by the international packaging design in the image—the brand is owned and distributed by PepsiCo.
Because 7UP has a massive global footprint, it is manufactured in multiple countries through a network of local bottling partners. This localized production ensures that the product meets regional tastes and logistical efficiency. While the brand originated in the USA, its presence as a PepsiCo-managed asset internationally makes it a cornerstone of the global beverage industry.
