Heinz in 1869 in Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania, USA. While originally an American brand, baked beans became a cultural staple in the United Kingdom after being introduced to Fortnum & Mason in 1886.

Today, Heinz is part of the Kraft Heinz Company, which was formed through a mega-merger in 2015.
