Iglo is a prominent European frozen food brand with deep roots in the post-war frozen food revolution. The brand was originally established in Germany by Unilever in 1959. Over the decades, it became a household name across Europe, particularly known for its frozen vegetables and fish products. In 2006, Unilever sold the majority of its Iglo business to the private equity firm Permira. Eventually, in 2015, the brand was acquired by Nomad Foods, a British-headquartered company that has since consolidated various iconic European frozen food brands under its umbrella. Today, the products sold in the German market are primarily produced at the Iglo plant in Reken, North Rhine-Westphalia, which is one of the largest frozen food production sites in Europe, ensuring high quality and regional sourcing for many of its ingredients.
