Kenco is a prominent British brand with a long-standing heritage in the coffee industry, dating back to 1923 when it was established as the Kenya Coffee Company. Originally founded as a specialist coffee distribution company in London, it eventually rebranded to Kenco in the 1960s to reflect a more global sourcing strategy. Today, it is particularly well-known in the United Kingdom and Ireland for its range of instant coffee and roast and ground varieties.

The brand has undergone several changes in ownership throughout its history. For many years, it was a flagship brand of Mondelez International (formerly Kraft Foods). Following a major industry merger in 2015 between the coffee divisions of Mondelez and D.E Master Blenders 1753, the brand became part of JDE Peet's (Jacobs Douwe Egberts). JDE Peet's is a Dutch-headquartered global leader in the coffee and tea markets, backed by the investment holding company JAB Holding Company. While the brand carries deep British roots, its production is distributed across various European facilities to serve different regional markets.
