Kenco Decaf instant coffee

Kenco is a historic British coffee brand with a heritage dating back to 1923, when it was originally founded as the Kenya Coffee Company. Initially established as a co-operative of Kenyan coffee growers, the business began by selling roasted and ground coffee to British country houses via mail order. Over the decades, it evolved from a specialty roaster to a household name in the UK's instant coffee market, rebranding as Kenco in 1962 to reflect its expanding international bean sourcing beyond Kenya.

Today, Kenco is managed by JDE Peet’s, the world's leading pure-play coffee company, following a series of historical acquisitions by major food conglomerates including Kraft Foods and Mondelez International. As of 2026, the brand is under the ultimate ownership of Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) following a landmark $18 billion acquisition of JDE Peet's completed in late 2025. This deal integrated Kenco into a global cross-channel coffee powerhouse. While Kenco sources its coffee beans from various regions including Brazil, Costa Rica, and Vietnam, its primary manufacturing and packaging operations, including a major factory in Banbury, remain rooted in the United Kingdom.
