Denon is a historic name in high-fidelity audio, specializing in home theater and professional audio equipment. Founded in 1910, the brand pioneered digital audio technology and remains a leader in the AV receiver market.
While originally a Japanese company, Denon has undergone several corporate mergers. It is currently owned by Masimo Corporation, an American medical technology firm that acquired Sound United (the previous parent company) in 2022. Manufacturing for the majority of its consumer-grade AV receivers, like those found in typical home setups, occurs in Vietnam and China, while high-end flagship products are still crafted at the Shirakawa factory in Japan to ensure premium build quality.
