Flora is a globally recognized brand specializing in plant-based spreads and fats. Originally launched in the United Kingdom in 1964 as a health-focused alternative to butter, it was created by the British-Dutch multinational Unilever. The brand pioneered the use of sunflower oils to create spreads high in polyunsaturated fats.

In 2018, Unilever sold its spreads division to KKR, leading to the formation of Upfield. Under Upfield's ownership, Flora has transitioned to being 100% plant-based, removing dairy ingredients from its core range to appeal to vegan and environmentally conscious consumers. While the brand has British roots, it is now part of a global portfolio with manufacturing facilities located in various regions including Europe and North America to serve local markets.
